One shared picture of every student.
Staff record what they see in class. Lila turns it into one strengths-first profile for each child, so the plan, the support and the review all start from the same observations.

Six areas, one profile
Every student is described across the same six areas, so teachers, specialists and families read every profile the same way. They build on the four broad areas of need many schools already work with: cognition and learning is split into literacy and maths, and executive functioning is added. They describe areas of development, not categories of child.

From observation to review, in one loop
Lila follows the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle your team already runs.
- 1 · Assess
Structured observation
Staff note how often they see each skill or behaviour, from Rarely to Always, starting with strengths. A new observation form can be completed in under ten minutes, or under thirty for a high-needs observation. - 2 · Plan
Plans that match the profile
Individual learning plans and provision maps that start from what staff observed. - 3 · Do
Support, coordinated
Teachers, teaching assistants and specialists each see the view their role needs. - 4 · Review
Movement you can see
Each review shows what staff have seen change since the last one, so the team can decide whether to continue, adjust, step support up or step it down.
How Lila talks about children
Three rules run through every screen, report and plan.
Strengths first
"What's going well" opens every profile and every observation.
Calm, not alarmist
No red, amber or green. Support is a level of provision, not a label on the child.
Plain to explain
Every score is a plain summary of what staff saw, so you can explain it to any parent.
Questions schools ask
Does Lila diagnose children?
No. Lila records what staff observe and helps plan support. Scores show what was seen and are not a diagnosis.
Does Lila replace our ILP templates and provision map, or sit alongside them?
Schools can use the Lila ILP guide to create ILPs, or add their own template. The Lila ILP guide offers a step-by-step walkthrough for each part of the process.
Does it work with iSAMS or our MIS?
Yes, through a CSV export. Export a student list from iSAMS, or any MIS, and upload it. Lila matches each student on your MIS student code, so records stay linked every time you re-import.
How long does setting up take?
We set Lila up with your Learning Support lead. Once we have your student export and a staff list, the technical setup takes about a day, followed by a one-hour session with your Learning Support team. Often the longest step is data-protection sign-off, and we'll support you through it.
Does Lila use AI?
No. Every score, profile and plan comes from what your staff observe and decide. If we add AI later, for example to read scanned assessment forms, we’ll tell you first, and staff will check every result before it’s saved.
See Lila with your own school in mind
A 30-minute video call, at a time that suits you. We’ll show Lila set up the way your school works: your year groups, your support levels, and the framework you use, whether you follow the SEND Code of Practice, an MTSS model, IB inclusion guidance or your own terms. Every student in the demo is fictional; we never need real student data to show you around.
You’ll see how Lila:
- turns staff observations into one shared profile for each student
- helps you write and review individual learning plans
- shows the support in place across the school, and what has changed since it began
- gives teachers, TAs and families the right view, and nothing more
Bring your questions about data protection, your MIS, or how you run Learning Support now. No preparation needed, and no obligation.
